DAY OF PRAYER: The Women’s World Day of Prayer is planned for Friday March 4. The Day of Prayer is an international event when women from all over the world pray together. Each year, women from a different part of the world are invited to prepare a service through which their hopes and fears for their country can be put before the whole world. It means that on a given day, about three million people from 170 countries and islands focus their prayers on one country. This year it’s Cuba, with a theme Receive Children, Receive Me from St Mark’s Gospel, and the service has been translated into over 60 languages and 1000 dialects. In Britain over 6000 services will be held. Our local service will be at the Holy Cross Chapel, Holy Cross, Cross in Hand on Friday March 4 starting at 10.30am. Everyone is welcome.
