PANTO TIME: Watching the scenery going up this week for our village pantomime, Waldronella, made me think how much fun we’ve all had with drama in the village over the past years. It’s a lot of hard work but everyone who wants to be involved gets the opportunity, whether it’s treading the boards or helping behind the scenes with set design, painting and building, costumes, dressing, make-up, lighting and sound effects, not to mention of course our brilliant script. The extra bonus is that it doesn’t matter what your age is we’ve got people involved from about 20 through to the upper seventies. Everyone’s contribution is valuable and if we could bottle the feel-good factor of being involved in the panto, we could make a fortune.
TICKETS: Both Friday and Saturday evening performances of Waldronella are now sold out (sorry) but we still have some tickets for the Saturday matinée at 2.30pm and the big bonus if you come in the afternoon is that you don’t have to drive in the dark. Tickets are £8 per head and £7 for members of Friends of Waldron Churches. Box Office 01435 812036 or buy in person at The Star or Gemini Greetings in Heathfield High Street. Please make cheques to Friends of Waldron Churches.
PUB QUIZ: The very popular pub quizzes at The Star begin again Monday January 30. Teams of up to six as usual and the cost per head is £8 which includes a one-course supper. Menus are now available for St Valentine’s Day lunches.
SERVICES: This weekend’s services (on Sunday) are both at St Bartholomew’s, at 8am for Holy Communion and at 10am for Parish Eucharist.
