SINGING FOR FUN: This coming Monday will be the next gathering of the Singing for Fun group, which as usual will take place at the Cross in Hand Methodist Church Hall at the top of Firgrove Road, at 2pm. The car park is on the left-hand side about 100 yards down the road from the Church Hall. Favourite songs will be sung and anyone can bring along suggestions (if possible with sheet music) for the group to sing. There is time for refreshments and a chat afterwards and a small charge is made to cover costs.

EASTER LILIES: Every year, we have a wonderful display of lilies at both churches, in memory of loved ones we have lost. Each year, members of the congregation who wish, make a donation to the flower arranging teams for the purchase of the lilies and give the name or names of those they would like to remember. Contact Jane Leney for All Saints’ if you would like to take part in this informal act of remembrance, sending a cheque made out to All Saints’ Flower Fund to Jane at The Laurels, Cross in Hand, TN21 0QA with the name of the person or people you want to commemorate. I understand that lilies cost £2.50 per stem. During the Easter weekend (April 19 to 21) the list of those being remembered will be displayed in the Hospitality area at All Saints’.

WEIGHT 4IT: Friday mornings is the time for weighing ourselves at Waldron Community Coffee Shop at 9.30am. This is a friendly weigh-in for those of us who would like support to achieve a slimmer outline and outlook. There is no finger-wagging or pressure, but we compare notes, exchange ideas and recipes in an effort to help each other to get healthier and happier. Everyone welcome and it’s just £1 a week contribution for the shop, and the opportunity to have a coffee (or tea) and a chat in a sociable setting.

COUNTRY MARKET: This month’s Country Market will be on Thursday at the Holy Cross Priory from 11am until 1pm. Everyone is very welcome.

SERVICES: This Sunday will be the fifth in Lent. Services will be held at All Saints’, at 8am for Holy Communion at which George will preside and preach and at 10am for Parish Eucharist and George will preside and preach. Family Support Work (FSW) is asking us to bring tea, coffee, fruit juices, biscuits and squash for local families in need. Next week’s collection will be of Easter eggs.
