Virtual careers fair to assist job seekers

TOP EMPLOYERS are showcasing their job vacancies in a 12-day-long virtual careers fair this month.

Jobstoday’s National Virtual Careers Fair, which launched on September 2, will allow talented job seekers to connect to local and national employers.

The careers fair is an online platform, where job seekers can browse vacancies at some of the top companies from across the UK.

Visitors to the online platform will be able to connect in a real-time environment, and apply for advertised vacancies – all from the comfort of their own home.

Group category manager at Johnston Press Joanne Harwood said the fair was a ‘huge advantage’ to those looking for work, and was an efficient way for employers to advertise jobs.

She said: “By creating a fair that can be navigated as if you were there in person;, it enables employers and job seekers to connect more efficiently and successfully through innovative technology solutions.

“This latest trend offers job seekers a huge advantage as they can find jobs that best suit their skills set and desired working environment.”

A total of 25 top employers are signed-up for the virtual fair.

These include Nationwide, Sodexho, Rolls-Royce, Zurich and Aldi.

The wide range of companies ensures job seekers in numerous areas, such as office, retail and logistics will have vacancies to apply for.

Job seekers can join the fair by registering for free at www.jobstodaycareerfair.com

All that is required is a computer with internet access, and recent version of Flash Player.

The virtual fair is set-up like a real-life jobs event, with virtual ‘stands’ set-up for the various jobs providers.

With positive responses from job seekers and businesses, Jobstoday will also run another Virtual Careers Fair event, later in the year.

Businesses can also find out how to get involved, and set-up their own virtual stand, by contacting 0114 299 6173.
