Days before work starts on the new layout of Albion Way, the pictures showing aerial views of the John Lewis at Home and Waitrose site and the surrounding area are drawing attention from passers-by.

The Bishops Weald House unit on the corner of Bishopric has been boarded up since the McDonald’s lease came to an end last year. Since then many have commented on how dour the area looks.

The display boards promise Horsham’s new West End to bring ‘shopping eating and living’ to the town.

The top floors of Bishops Weald House will become flats and there will also be flats on the former Lifestyle Ford site to the west of Albion Way. Work is well underway on the long-awaited John Lewis at Home and Waitrose units.

Meanwhile Civil Engineering Contractor Gallagher Ltd will soon start work on the junction of Bishopric and Albion Way.

Work includes widening of pavements, replacing signals and resurfacing the carriageways.

The works are expected to last for three months and will require road narrowing and 24 hour traffic signals whilst the works are taking place to Bishopric and Albion Way. Motorists travelling during these hours are advised to allow extra time for their journey.
