Visitor helps youngsters get the point about road safety

CHILDREN at a Durrington school got a spiky reception when they welcomed a visitor last week.

Pupils at Durrington First School, Salvington Road, said hello to the Road Safety Hedgehog last Friday.

The prickly guest, accompanied by county council road safety advisor Anjila Clark, visited nursery, reception and year one classes as part of the national Road Safety Week.

The children played games such as Stop, Look and Listen and Hold a Hand to help them learn important concepts in keeping safe near the roads.
