THE CHARITY shop in Polegate run by the Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL) needs volunteer drivers to collect donations from residents who are not able to bring items to the shop themselves.
Donations could include small, portable furniture such as side tables, nests of tables, coffee tables, bedside cabinets and stools, bric-a-brac, homeware and clothing. Drivers would be required to make pre-arranged house calls organised by the shop team and transport the donations back to the shop. The collections can be arranged around other commitments the volunteers may have and could include evenings and weekends if they are more convenient.
Sally Walters, area manager for SATCoL, Sally Walters said: “We get lots of calls relating to house collections and volunteer drivers would really make a difference as we could take in much more stock.”
The shop team emphasised that volunteers do not need to drive a van – a car with a reasonable sized boot or back seat would be fine. If you think you can help with collections in and around Polegate phone the shop on 01323 482090.
