Volunteers are needed to support four needy causes

OPPORTUNITIES are available for those who would like to volunteer some of their time to help others across the Gazette area.

This week disabilities charity, the Littlehampton Shopmobility, is searching for a new trustee to join the group, based in St Martin’s Lane. The cause, which offers low-cost wheelchairs and scooters for hire around the town, is also looking for someone to help with scooter maintenance and repair.

Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice, in Poling, is hunting for someone to become a fundraising stand co-ordinator. The role would see them assisting the hospice’s community fundraisers transport, set-up, dismantle and take away charity stands that are used at community events.

Arun Counselling Centre (ACC) is appealing for a receptionist to help with the organisation’s admin process. The position would involve managing incoming telephone calls and messages, record information, liaise with ACC personnel, update information on the computer and take referrals from new clients.

The final role available this week is as a helpline volunteer for the Surrey Drug and Alcohol Care. The work would be from home but at no cost to themselves, with one cover a fortnight, of five hours during the day or nine at night.

Those who are keen to help with any roles should call Volunteer Now! on 01243 864220.
