Volunteers needed to keep Seaford blooming

An appeal for people to form a new Seaford in Bloom committee was issued this week by Seaford Town Council.

The original committee folded last year and the town council agreed to take over floral displays in the town.

Seaford in Bloom was set up in 1992 with the aim of making the town a better place.

Its fundraising was so succesful that it left enough money to pay for floral displays in the town for three years after it folded.

It was chaired by Isabel Stephenson, who in January 2014 received a British Empire Medal for her service to the community through Seaford in Bloom.

The town council paid tribute to the group’s voluntary work and to Europlants Ltd which provided the town with a wonderful selection of plants and flowers throughout the town centre.

Anyone who is keen to get involved with re-establishing a Seaford in Bloom voluntary committee is asked to contact the town council on 01323 894870 or by email admin@seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk
