The litter blitz forms part of a national ‘Clean for the Queen’ campaign launched in the run-up to the Queen’s birthday on April 21.

Horsham Park’s litter pick is set to start on Friday March 4 from 10am to 12 noon with volunteers meeting on the stage in the Human Nature Garden. ‘‘We are looking for as many volunteers as possible to come along for our clean- up day, helping our dedicated Park Rangers with a variety of jobs,’’ said the council.

Various clean-up events are taking place across the country during February, March and April. The overall aim is to inspire a million people to attempt the biggest clean up in history while enjoying spending valuable community time together making the places where we live more beautiful.

Commenting on the event, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture, Jonathan Chowen (Con, Cowfold) said: “Please come along and support our litter picking day.

“The Horsham Park event is one of many that the council is supporting as part of the national Clean for The Queen campaign and is a great way of showing that you care about your local environment.’’
