ROUGHSHOD: Tomorrow, Saturday, the Riding Lights Theatre Company presents Roughshod Let Loose which I hear will be irrepressible and satirical comedy to amuse all ages. The performance will be at 7.30pm at All Saints' and it sounds enormous fun judging by the clues to the satirical themes which have been trailed in advance. Two cowboy builders get an unexpected lesson about less-than-firm foundations, a desperate caller finds their life on permanent hold and the surprising story of what happens when an ex-con comes to stay. The performers are a bunch of energetic young people. Tickets are £5 each from Ian Dixon (01435 813363).

BT FIBRE OPTICS: The work has begun on installing a new BT fibre optics cabinet to speed up our internet service in the village (hallelujah). There are temporary traffic lights affecting Rocks Lane, The Street and Whitehouse Lane and during the ten days of operations there will be some noise and inconvenience and the company apologises to residents for any disruption. If it means that our internet service will actually work at speed faster than snail’s pace, I think we’ll all be able to put up with that.

COUNTRY MARKET: Waldron’s monthly Country Market will take place on Thursday at Holy Cross Priory from 11am until 1pm. Home made goods, fruit and vegetables, plants, cards and other goodies will be on offer as usual.

SERVICES: This Sunday both morning services will be at St Bartholomew’s at 8am for Holy Communion and at 10am for Parish Eucharist. The twin themes will be Sea Sunday and Teddy Bear Sunday. The Charity Family Support Work (FSW) is asking for special collections of squash, biscuits, tea and coffee and there are boxes at the back of both churches where you can put your donations. Evening prayer will be at All Saints’ at 6pm.
