RAMBLING ON: Despite the doubtful weather forecast and indeed the cloudbursts in the morning our Right Royal Ramble went ahead last Sunday afternoon with over 50 ramblers and their dogs enjoying the route through the woods and fields between St Bart's and All Saints'. Refreshments at the end were much appreciated thank you for the tea, scones and cake courtesy of the WI and other expert cake-makers of the parish. I hear that over £300 was raised for the Friends of Waldron Churches to help with the cost of re-ordering of our two churches.

ROAD RUNNERS: Less of the horse-power but plenty of enthusiasm and physical effort will fuel the Heathfield Road Runners on their Midsummer 10k on Sunday June 26. The event starts at the top of Back Lane at 10am and follows the usual route via Browns Lane, Fir Grove Road, North Street and the centre of Waldron before running through Lions Green, past Burnt House Farm and Hanging Birch Lane and Back Lane to the finish. The majority of runners will be through within an hour and any encouragement from bystanders taking an early Sunday morning walk will be most welcome. Equally, drivers are asked to be patient and careful. Anyone who would like to help with the event please contact [email protected]
