Walk set to aid good causes

DOZENS of people will be turning out on Sunday to take part in Rye and Winchelsea Rotary Club’s annual May Walk.

The event is one of the main fund raisers of the year for the Club and there is still time to take part and help raise money for good causes.

The Club says this year’s walk is one of the best scenic routes through the Rye area that they have come up with.

There are options of routes from three to 10 miles across the Marsh to Icklesham and returning via Camber Castle.

Rotarian Richard Popple said: “All walkers are welcome on the day and those without sponsorship or registration are welcome on the day, making a minimum donation of £5 to our nominated charities.”

Walkers set off from Cinque Ports Street, outside Phillips and Stubbs, from 9.30am. The walk, now in its 15th year, raised money for local charities and good causes with walkers able to nominate their own charities.
