Police were searching for Lewis Davis, 23, of no fixed address, after he failed to appear at magistrates’ court on a drugs charge.

Davies was detained in Terminus Road, Eastbourne, on October 7 last year and reported for possessing a quantity of cannabis, a class B controlled drug, say Sussex Police.

He was due to attend Hastings Magistrates’ Court on December 21 2016 to answer the allegation but did not do so, leading to a warrant being issued for his arrest.

According to Sussex Police, Davies handed himself in during the early hours of Monday (March 6) and later the same day appeared before magistrates in Brighton.

He was remanded on unconditional bail until Wednesday, March 22, to appear before Hastings magistrates.
