"We'd urge everyone not to have bonfires in the current warm dry conditions but if they do please ensure that they are not left unattended."

Crews dealt with a similar incident on Saturday.

Midhurst Fire Station said it was called to an 'out of control' bonfire spreading to an outbuilding. Firefighters from Petworth and Guildford helped to stop the spread.

The Midhurst crew was also mobilised early on Saturday morning to a fire in the open at Devils Punchbowl, in Hindhead. The small fire was extinguished by crews using backpacks.

It comes as Midhurst and Petworth firefighters continue to support Surrey Fire and Rescue with the ongoing, major incident at Chobham Common.
