"Warts going on here, then?"

RESIDENTS at a Shoreham nursing home were treated to a day of Hallowe'en activities last week.

Staff at Kingsland House care home, in Kingsland Close, joined in the entertainment, which included bobbing for apples and a "pin the wart on the witch" contest.

A Hallowe'en menu was prepared, including a pumpkin and seafood chowder, with cheesy bat bites, all washed down with a special Hallowe'en punch.

Kingsland House spokeswoman Karen Hilton said: "It was fantastic. We had a hat competition with staff and residents. They really enjoyed seeing the staff joining in. The residents all had a really good time."

The hat competition was won by Sylvia German, who told the Herald she was "21 years young".

Other events included an arts and crafts session, where residents made bat decorations, and music with a Hallowe'en theme, such as the Monster Mash.
