Water leak since early January sparks off complaint against Southern Water

WATER has been leaking from a main outside a Pulborough man's home since January 12, at times flooding the entire road, and has still not been resolved by Southern Water.

Peter Terry, who lives at Church Cottage, Hardham, near Pulborough is angry and exasperated by the lack of action and total failure of Southern Water to tell him what is happening.

The retired civil engineer says that unless he gets satisfactory action this week, he will report the issue to water watchdog Offwat and take the matter up with his local MP.

"I'm fed up of phoning Southern Water. If I was running water as fast as this is coming from their mains, they would have been down on me like a ton of bricks. Ironically, their pumping station is less than 600 yards from my home," he said.

The saga began during the evening of January 12, when he could hear running water when he was inside his home. He tracked the source of the noise to outside his front gate where water was surging up and flooding the road.
