Water shortage forces schools to close

The long-running water shortage problems have forced the emergency closure of a number of schools across East Sussex today (Tuesday, March 6).

They include Rotherfield Primary School and St Mark’s Primary School, Hadlow Down, which are both without water.

Partly closed are Beacon Academy in Crowborough and Mark Cross Primary School.

Elsewhere, firefighters from Mayfield, Crowborough and Uckfield assisted in supplying water to farmers for their livestock yesterday (Monday).

On one occasion, more than 12,000 litres of water were delivered to a farm in Hadlow Down.
