Way cleared for new Shoreham lifeboat station

HUNDREDS of people marked the end of an era with the last launch from Shoreham Harbour's 76-year-old lifeboat station.

The building, which was constructed in 1933, will be demolished to make way for a new station at the Kingston Beach headquarters.

Work began this week to strip out the building and the demolition is expected to begin next week.
