Torrential downpours have caused chaos in Lewes and Newhaven today (Thursday, August 13).
Train services were disrupted earlier this morning due to flooding on the lines between Lewes and Wivelsfield. The line has since been re-opened.
A number of roads in the district are also flooded, including Bell Lane and The Avenue, in Lewes, and Chapel Street and Valley Street in Newhaven, where raw sewage is mixing with approximately six inches of rain water after a drain burst.
Firefighters are currently at the scene of flooding in Seaford and a dangerous structure in Newhaven, although details of these are yet to be released.
Weather has also caused chaos across East Sussex, with the Arndale Shopping Centre and Sovereign Centre in Eastbourne evacuated due to flooding.
All Airbourne flights have also been cancelled for the day due to the treacherous conditions.
