Weather Is Conkered

ALMOST 50 players braved the wet and windy conditions when the annual charity conkers competition was held at the Spotted Cow, Angmering, on Sunday afternoon.

Organised by SCOTCH the Spotted Cow Organisation to Create Help the competition attracted a creditable 16 teams in spite of the poor weather, which caused a delayed start.

And with the last of the chestnuts lying smashed on the ground, the Woodpeckers, Tina Peck, Sharon Collins and Ryan Collins, emerged as this year's winners.
