Polegate’s Christmas lights will be turned on by weatherman Michael Fish.
The lights will be turned on at the town’s annual Dickensian Day which takes place on November 29. The event will run from 1pm until 5pm and is a major fundraiser for charity Children with Cancer. At 4.45pm the Christmas lights will be switched on by Michael Fish.
There will also be 36 stalls selling various gifts and produce at the event.
People will also be entertained by Morris dancers and carol singers.
There will be a Mayoral raffle with prizes and prizes will also be awarded for the best period costume.
Father Christmas will also arrive by train at Polegate station, and PADMEC, the local model steam railway, will bring along a section of track and small scale steam locos to give rides.
