The original yellow ‘be prepared’ warning was for sleet and snow and the concern about ‘black ice’ on the roads.

However, the latest forecast is that the main weather front is likely to stay further north and not hit Sussex.

The county, though, could see some sleet and a dusting of snow tomorrow evening in coastal areas, and similar conditions Saturday morning in the north of Sussex.

The weekend is expected to be mostly cloudy with an occasional shower Saturday afternoon, but dry on Sunday, with temperatures 4-6degC in the day and freezing overnight.
