Web surfing helps traders to stay afloat

AN INNOVATIVE idea will use cyberspace to boost business in Wick.

The Wick Village Traders’ Association, in conjunction with the Wick Information Centre, All Saints’ Church and the Littlehampton Town Council, has been working hard to improve trade in the area.

And on Monday, it will culminate with the official launch of Wick’s new website showcasing business in the area.

Roger Arthurs, of the traders’ association, said it would be the ‘jewel in Wick’s crown’. “If you are a trader, please feel free to showcase your business on these pages, and if you are a local resident or just visiting the site, we feel sure you’ll be amazed by the strength and diversity of all the companies shown,” he said.

A launch event will take place on Monday from 2-6.30pm at Wick Hall, in Wick Street. There will be games and details will be available on how to join the scheme.

Cash for the site came as part of the Wick Morrisons development.
