Well done Charlie

RECOVERING from a chest infection did not stop five-year-old Charlie Green, from Battle, completing his one-mile sponsored walk/bike ride in Alexandra Park, Hastings, last Sunday.

Charlie, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy, was aided on the walk by mum Sarah and dad Gavin. Sarah said: "He was so excited and we were completely overwhelmed by the amount of people who turned up to cheer him on."

Charlie is a pupil at Sedlescombe School and the money raised will go towards buying a laptop to help him in his studies.

Sarah is hoping they will also have enough money to buy Charlie an expensive speech aid.

In order for him to obtain the aid he will require a trip to Oxford to the ACE centre (Aiding Communication in Education) for a speech communication assesment.

So far 1,000 of sponsorship money has been recieved, with more still to be collected hopes are high that the final figure will be close to 2,000.

Sarah expressed her gratitude to everyone who has kindly sponsored and supported Charlie, in particular Sedlescombe School head Mrs Ham.
