Well done our Tony

ST RICHARD'S Catholic College principal Tony Campbell visited the palace with his family last week to pick up his OBE for services to education.

Mr Campbell was given the award as part of the Queen's New Year honours.

It follows a year in which St Richard's achieved "outstanding" ratings in its Ofsted report.

The school remains one of the top performers in the county at GCSE level.

Mr Campbell has already thanked the communities in the three towns' the college serves - Bexhill, Hastings and Eastbourne - for their support for the college. Mr Campbell said: ""I am absolutely delighted - very, very proud.

"I think it is a great honour personally but, more importantly, it is also for everyone who has ever been associated with me over the years from day one.

"This includes my family, because there has been a lot of sacrifice in terms of time."

Now in his 19th year in charge of St Richard's, Mr Campbell has overseen massive changes both in the expansion of the school's facilities and it the results it achieves.
