Services at Westfield Parish Church: on Sunday are Holy Communion at 8am and at 10am. The weekly Lent meetings continue in the church each Wednesday at 7.30pm, so come to any meeting for praise, prayer and Bible study. Mothering Sunday is the following week, 26 March, and there will be a special Family Service at 10am, when children will be able to keep the lovely tradition of giving out posies.

Westfield Scout Group: is organising another of its popular Murder Mystery Evenings tomorrow Saturday March 18 at 7pm for 7.30pm. The Playden Murder Mystery Players will be making a welcome return visit to entertain and challenge teams of about 6 people. Tickets (£8) are available from Scouts, Archers or ring 01424 753684 or 754080, and include ploughman’s supper. Please bring your own drinks and glasses.

Westfield Scout Group: will also be running their annual Duck Race on Sunday, April 2 at 1pm. As usual, the ducks will be thrown from the bridge at Forge Stream, Cottage Lane, and burgers and hot dogs will be available from 12.15pm. Please buy your lucky duck number (£1) from Scouts, Archers Butchers, or at the field on the day. There will be a special class for your own character ducks, too, with entry £2 on the day.

The Friendship Club: meets on Monday, March 20 in the New Inn from 2 - 3.30 pm. Members play bingo and whist with a cup of tea and biscuits during the afternoon. Several outings are arranged during the year. The yearly subscription is £5, and then the cost is only 10p each meeting. New members are always welcome; contact Jean Hobson on 01424 753095.

F3 (Friends, Fun, Fellowship): meets on Thursday, March 23 at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall, when David Jones, with his dog, will talk about the work of Pets as Therapy. F3 is a friendly group open to all women of any age, and admission is just £2. For more details telephone Helen on 01424 752052.

Westfield Parish Lunch Club: meets next Friday, March 24at 12.45 for 1pm in the Parish Hall. The club provides a 2-course home cooked meal at a cost of £3.50 for those who are over 55 years old or disabled and living in Westfield Parish. For catering purposes, please let Co-ordinator Doreen know if you would like to book a place by ringing 01424 751417. New members are needed, and you will find a warm welcome.
