Westfield Parish Church: services on Sunday are Holy Communion at 8am and 10am. The second of the Lent series ‘Opening Doors’ is in church at 7pm on Wednesday, February 24. Next Sunday, February 28, is our Family Service, and Ishmael will be making a return visit to Westfield. He is a singer, writer of very catchy songs, as well as a Missioner Deacon at Chichester Cathedral. You will find a warm welcome to this informal service. Tickets are on sale at church or Archers Butchers for the roast lunch following this Family Service, but book early as they are always popular!

The Youth Club: meets in the Parish Hall on Wednesday, February 24 from 6.30-8pm. New members aged 8 to 16 are welcome. To find out more contact Dan at [email protected], or telephone 07899 917952.

F3 (Friends, Fun, Fellowship): is a group open to all women of any age. It meets in the Parish Hall on Thursday, February 25, at 7.30pm, with ‘It’s My Turn’ as Nik Wiggins demonstrates wood-turning. Nik is a familiar face at local craft fayres with his array of wooden bowls and ornaments, and can ‘turn’ his hand to almost anything wood-related. Admission is £2, and for details telephone Helen on 01424 752052.

Westfield Football Club: is organising a Race Night at Westfield Parish Hall on Saturday, February 27 at 7pm for 7.30pm start. There will be a bar, but bring your own nibbles and some betting money. Ring 07899917952 to book a table at £5 per person.

Westfield Scout Group: presents another Murder Mystery Evening on Saturday, March 5, with the popular Playden Murder Mystery Players. The event is for teams of up to 6 people, and starts at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. Tickets include ploughman’s supper, but please bring your own drinks and glasses to help the little grey cells along. Tickets (£8) will be available from Scout Leaders, Archers Butchers, or ring 01424 754080 or 753684.

Save these dates! The WCA: is organising another Community Scarecrow Competition from May 27. This will have a Shakespeare theme to celebrate 400 years since his birth, so start planning your creation. The WCA hopes you will support this year’s Westfield Village Fete on Saturday June 4 from 1pm on the Parish Field. It will celebrate the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings with a 1066 theme. Stalls will be available, and all offers of help will be gratefully received. The contact is Annie (01424 754337) or [email protected]
