FRIENDS OF WESTFIELD CHURCH: The AGM is on Saturday November 14, in the church at 2pm. Tea and coffee available. THE NEW INN: October 31 sees a Halloween Party from 8pm including live music from The Mutineers (who provided brilliant music for the beer festival). Fancy dress optional but encouraged. The usual food menu will be available that day from noon to 7pm. Bookings are being taken for their Christmas menu. Some days are already completely booked, so act quickly. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: Do not forget the Great Pumpkin weigh in which will be held at The Plough Public House tomorrow, Saturday. This will be interesting to see how everybody has fared.

THE FRIENDSHIP CLUB: Future dates are October 26, November 9 and 23 and December 7 (Christmas party). New members are made most welcome. Meetings are 2pm to 3.30pm in the Parish Hall, and members enjoy dominoes, Scrabble, whist, bingo, and a chat over tea and biscuits. The yearly subscription is £5, plus 10p each meeting. WESTFIELD SCOUT GROUP: Westfield Beavers has re started and the new Leader, Katharine Moore, has spaces available for boys or girls aged between 6 and 8 years looking for fun and friends. If you would like more information please call her on 07736 146779.

NATIONAL TRUST: The Rye and District Association of the National Trust. Thursday November 19, Edward Barham will tell us about the Hole Park Estate which is his home and has been in his family for four generations. All talks will be at Brede Village Hall commencing at 2pm. The entrance fee of £3 (members) and £4 (non-members) includes refreshments after the talk. Monday November 23, we have again arranged a Bluewater Shopping Trip. There are still a few seats available at £11.50.
