Westfield Parish Church: As usual there will be Holy Communion at 8am on Sunday and 9.30am on Wednesday. Christmas services are Sunday 21st 6pm Carols by Candlelight; Wednesday 24th (Christmas Eve) 4pm & 6pm Christingle Services & at 11pm Midnight Holy Communion; Thursday 25th (Christmas Day) 9am BCP Communion & at 10.30 am All age worship.

Westfield Christmas Lights: Westfield lights are up for St Michael’s Hospice. Once again this year the residents of Westfield will be decorating around 30 of their houses with wonderful decorations and fantastic lights at Christmas, in aid of St Michael’s Hospice. This is an amazing sight so don’t miss the wonderful seasonal display and don’t forget to put your donations in the Hospice buckets!

Carols around the Tree: This annual event is held at Corbieres, Main Road (with kind permission of Jean & Wilf Tomsett) today, 7pm Friday 12th. Live music, community carols followed by homemade soup. All invited. Wind instrument players/musicians wanted urgently, please contact Janice on 01424 753684.

Christmas Carols & Sing-a-long: Graham and Richard will be leading a sing-a-long with carols at the Plough on 17th December from 7 pm. There will be a mystery raffle for charity. There will also be mince pies and mulled wine available. All very welcome. The Plough also has other events over the festive season, see local notices around the village.

Christmas Quiz Night: Westfield FC are hosting this “football for all” fundraising evening at the Parish Hall on Saturday December 13th at 7pm. Tickets are £5pp, bring your own food & drink plus a few pounds for the raffle. Places are limited so you need to contact Dan Stratford asap on 07952 995743.

The Friendship Club: meets from 2-3.30pm on alternate Mondays, in the Parish Hall for dominoes, Scrabble, whist, bingo, tea and biscuits. New members are welcome and can find out more from Jean Hobson on 01424 753095.

Westfield Newsagent: is now a collection point for myHermes parcels. This is very useful for sending and collecting parcels. Please pop in for more information.

Westfield School Governor: A number of vacancies have recently arisen within our Governing Body, including a Parent Governor role and newly created ‘Co-Opted’ roles. Governors play a critical role in keeping the governing body aware of the views of parents and the local community. Serving as part of a team and an enthusiasm for the work of the school is paramount to a successful governing body. Pass and Move: runs football coaching sessions every Saturday at St Leonard’s Academy from 9-10.30am (£3.50) or 9-11.30am (£5) and in Westfield during the week. Rubbish & Recycling Collections: the collections due on Mondays 29th December & 5th January will both be 1 day later. Normal service resumes on Monday 12th January. More details available at www.rother.gov.uk
