Church Services at St John’s Church: are as usual, there will be Holy Communion at 9.30am on Wednesday.

Friends of Westfield Parish Church: Their AGM will be held in the church on Saturday 8th November at 2pm. Also there will be an interesting display & discussion relating to Westfield in World War 1. Tea & coffee will be available.

Friends of Westfield Parish Church Christmas Fayre: Will be held on Saturday November 27th from 10 – 12 in the Parish Hall. Stalls will include cakes, books, bric-a-brac, wooden items, cards, tombola etc all in good time for Christmas. The Friendship Club: meets monthly in the Parish Hall for dominoes, Scrabble, whist, bingo, tea & biscuits. New members are welcome; details from Jean Hobson on 01424 753095.

Village Tidy: Many thanks to the hardy volunteers who braved the rain to take part in the Village Tidy on Saturday 11th. Around twenty bags of litter were collected, much of it drinks cans and bottles, sweet and crisp packets and cigarette packets – rather a sad statistic. We also thank the residents who regularly pick up litter in their own patches of the village throughout the year.

Parcel delivery: Westfield Newsagent is now a collection point for myHermes parcels. This is very useful for those who are not always available at home. Please pop in for more information.

Westfield Scout Group: presents another of its famous Murder Mystery evenings on Saturday, November 15, with the help of Icklesham Players. The event is for teams of about 6 people, and starts at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall. Tickets (£8) include ploughman’s supper, and should be booked in advance. Please bring your own drinks and glasses to help the little grey cells along. Tickets will be available from Scout Leaders, Archers Butchers, or ring 754080 or 753684.

Parish Hall: Volunteers are needed to join the painting party to smarten up the lower section of the Parish Hall walls during half term. Please contact Terry Howard at the church if you can help.

Westfield Community Hall: The 30th Anniversary week end of events was enjoyed by so many. 50 or 60 Senior residents enjoyed the Tea Party organised by Rosemary & her team on Saturday afternoon, the evening of live music was thoroughly enjoyed by all present (a pity many of you missed out!) organised by Min & Sarah & the children’s tea party was a huge success with Karen & her team kept very busy with 40 or so children attending. On behalf of the whole village, thank you to the team of organisers, some named above but many more were involved.

Football Coaching: Pass and Move runs coaching sessions every Saturday at St Leonard’s Academy from 9-10.30am (£3.50) or 9-11.30am (£5) & in Westfield during the week & school holidays. Tony and Duncan are both UEFA B (level 3) qualified. Race Night fundraiser: Westfield FC are hosting a race night at the Parish Hall on Saturday evening November 8th from 7 until 11. Entry is £5 pp inc a free draw (on the night) for a bottle of champagne. There will be a bar & snacks available and funds raised are to support providing football for all ages.

Rye and District Association of the National Trust: Quiz night will be held on Saturday 15th November at 7.00 pm in Beckley Village Hall.The cost will be £8 pp including sausage and mash supper.Tables will be for 8 people.
