Services at the Parish Church this Sunday, June 16, are Holy Communion at 8am and Holy Communion with JAM and Ignite at 9.30am. On Wednesday there will be Holy Communion as usual at 9.30am and mid-week Bible Study groups at 59 Heathlands and at Cockmartin’s Farm, both at 7.30pm.

Have you entered your front garden for the village competition? There is just time as Sunday, June 16 is the deadline for submitting your entry form. There are three classes (full garden, hanging basket/ planter/ box and decorative horticultural item), and forms are available from Westfield Horticultural Society or Westfield News.

You are reminded that your WCA Westfield Draw subscription is due for renewal this month. This is a monthly lottery organised to raise funds for the WCA. The draw takes place at the end of each month, with cash prizes. Membership is £10, which you can leave with your details in an envelope at Westfield News either as cash or a cheque payable to WCA. See the WCA Newsletter for further details, including direct e-transfer. Renewals will also be collected at the Fete, and new members are welcome.

The Friends of Westfield Church invite you to a strawberry tea in the delightful gardens of Church Place Farm (opposite the church) on Sunday, June 23 from 3-4.30pm. If the weather is poor it will be held in the Parish Hall. Admission is £4.

The Westfield Community Association AGM takes place in the Community Dining Hall on Monday, June 24 at 7.30pm, starting with wine and nibbles. All individual Westfield residents are invited as well as representatives of village organisations.

The Mobile Blood Unit will be at ‘The Plough’ on Tuesday, June 25. This is your chance to donate blood, with sessions from 1.30-4pm and 5-7.30pm. Ring 0300 123 23 23 for more information, or visit www.blood.co.uk.

The mobile unit of the East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre will be at ‘The Plough’ on Thursday, June 27 from 10.30am-3.30pm. The staff offer free information advice on all aspects of hearing loss, and also are able to demonstrate equipment and hearing screening tests. Please make sure that anyone you know who is deaf or hard of hearing knows about this service. The bus is accessible to wheelchair users.

The F3 women’s group meets at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall on Thursday, June 27, when retired solicitor Angela Hawkesley will be speaking about a ‘Life in Crime’. All women are very welcome. .

This year’s Westfield Village Fete on Saturday, July 6 will soon be here. The theme is ‘Bees’, so ‘buzz along’ and make a make a ‘beeline’ for the school field from 1-4pm. There will be the usual stalls, refreshments and barbecue, and arena events include fancy dress, dancing displays and races. Call 0795 263 5448 for details, to book a table or to offer help.
