PARISH COUNCIL NEWS: Today, Friday 18 November parish councillors will meet with Huw Merriman MP at Great Dixter to support faster broadband for the village and to put our case to BT to promote this need. More details next week of the discussions.

A reminder too, to ensure, that now the darker nights are here, parishioners should take additional care over security and ensure houses, sheds and vehicles are locked and secured. PARISH CHURCH NEWS: Remembrance Sunday at Whatlington saw a congregation of over 30 join in the church to remember those who have given their lives for our freedom, as well as those who served and still live with the consequences of war today. We missed Tom Kent, who has for many years laid the wreath on behalf of the church and who passed away this year aged 95 and who had served with Bomber Command during the war.

Our service was led by Reader, Ken Holmes and following the Act of Remembrance the two minute silence was begun and concluded by organist Russell Kemp sounding the Last Post and Reveille with his Cornet. Wreaths were laid at the village War Memorial on behalf of the village by the church PCC and the Village Hall committee.

Our church service next Sunday will be at our usual time of 9.30 am – all welcome
