The Good Companions: Hilda writes that Members of The Good Companions enjoyed a delicious meal at The Abbey Hotel. The group were made very welcome and because it was a cold day were seated close to the open fire.

Harvest Festival: The Harvest Festival at Whatlington was a great success. The congregation were pleased to be able to welcome Reader Charmaine Hill to take our service and enjoyed her sermon, which used various produce to illustrate the theme. We were joined by members of the Guides who meet in the village hall. These young ladies very kindly helped with serving the food and drinks and it was a pleasure to have them join us - our thanks to them and to their Brown Owl for all their help.

The church was decorated beautifully, with vegetables and some lovely flower arrangements.

Following the service, 24 of us sat down to a Harvest Lunch, some people having been unable to stay for the meal.

The Harvest gifts which people brought to the service will be taken to the Seaview Project in St.Leonards.

The church service next week will be at the usual time of 09.30, with our Rector, Kevin Mepham.
