The Royal Oak: We are organising a 1066 Battle of Hastings Celebration Banquet Meal for the 14th of October at 7.30pm. Anyone wanting to book a seat at the Banquet table can call us or come in and let us know. The meal will include suitably mediaeval fare: a Beef Stew, Rabbit Stew, Medieval Green Salad, Roasted Veg, Crusty bread and Poached pears in red wine.

Church News: Sadly, the opening of the Church for the Diocesan Bike Ride did not attract many visitors; perhaps the short climb up to the church was a step too far! Next Sunday’s service will be at 09.30 as usual, conducted by the Rev. Angela Cooke.

Village Hall: Several new bookings have been taken recently for private parties, one of which came through the new website - www.whatlingtonvh.org - which was exciting! The Hall Committee’s next meeting will be held on October 1st at 19.30. If you have any comments or suggestions for a forthcoming event or indeed for other matters relevant to the Hall, please let us know through the website or by ringing Annette McBride on 01424 871629.
