Whatlington

Jeffrey Bridges writes: The Cake & Coffee morning on Saturday 26th raised £137.45 for St. Michaels Hospice. We had an enjoyable morning at the church with a steady flow of people. Special thanks go to Valerie Bishop for running the kitchen, also to Andrea and Dot for their help and to all those who made and donated the lovely cakes. Cake sales alone raised £43.

The service next week at Whatlington is at 09.30, Parish Communion.

We await advice from the insurers prior to proceeding with repairs to the vandalised porch doors, as the work is more extensive than initially thought.

Maria writes from The Royal Oak: The Easter egg hunt and pinata morning went really well. We had around 9 very excited children who had a great time.

Our outside kids area is ready, with a tower, slide, climbing board and swing. It’s a great area for entertaining the kids in the beer garden. Hopefully the weather will improve and more and more families can enjoy it.

We have the Elvis tribute night coming up soon, on the 9th of May. All Elvis fans are invited. It should be a fun evening.

All Eurovision Song Contest fans are also invited to watch the two semi finals on the 6th and 8th of May, and of course the final on the 10th of May, live on our large TV in the pub.

With the weather improving, we should be starting our BBQ Sundays soon. More details to follow shortly!
