News from Alex at The Royal Oak:

A scary Halloween weekend is planned at The Royal Oak, on Friday 26th October from 8pm we are holding a Halloween Party - come along in fancy dress to have a boogie, try a cocktail, there will be a disco and karaoke too. It should be a great Friday night, please note we’ll only be serving food until 8pm. Following that, the Whatlington Film Club will be showing “The Woman in Black” on Saturday night (27th) from 8pm. The next live music night at The Royal Oak will be on Friday 2nd November, when our regular crowd of talented Irish Music enthusiasts will gather for a “jamming style” session around the bar. Music begins at 8.30pm, admission is free and the usual menu is available. Please call 01424 870492 if you would like to book a table for this unique uplifting evening.

Quiz night is still every Thursday at The Royal Oak from 8pm, with a range of questions to suit everyone. Entry is just £1 per person for teams of up to six, and the winning team has the chance to win the jackpot.

The next Village Hall Jumble Sale will take place on Saturday 27th October from 10am. If have any jumble you wish to donate, please drop it off at the pub or call Angie on 01424 870087, who may be able to collect. Helpers on the day, or for setting up the day before are always very welcome. There should be lots of excellent bargains, so come along early to scoop up the best deals!
