Master Palmist Robin Lown and Psychic Medium Grant Colyer managed to give incredibly accurate readings to practically everyone in the packed Barn - you have to see it for yourself to believe it! We also had a wonderful Jazz Night at The Royal Oak last week and The New Orleans Rhythmakers will be back to perform again on Wednesday 5th September - don’t miss it, they are an excellent band!

This Saturday night (11th) from 9pm we will be wine tasting at The Royal Oak. A selection of Rose wines will be on offer, and Hazel our local wine enthusiast will be able to tell us all about the different varieties which this time come from Chile, Argentina, Portugal and South Africa. The Royal Oak summer party, BBQ and Boules Tournament will be held on the August Bank Holiday 27th August this year from 3pm. Last year the Boules Tournament was hotly contested, and everyone enjoyed joining with their friends and neighbours in the garden for some good food and cold beer and wine! Live music will be performed from 3pm by Glashin, a well-known local duo that specialise in traditional folk music from around the world, this will provide a wonderful atmosphere to what we’re sure will be a super afternoon - fingers crossed for good weather! The next Book Club meeting for The Royal Oak Readers will be on Tuesday 4th September from 7.30pm to discuss the exotic mystery “The Coroner’s Lunch” by Colin Cotterill - everyone’s welcome.

The Village Hall Jumble Sale was a huge success last week and raised some well-needed funds for the Village Hall. A big thank-you to all those that made donations and to those that helped set up and “serve” on the day.
