The UK’s largest coach operator is calling on local kids to enter the ‘Colour the Coach’ – a competition that showcases the amazing landmarks people can see up and down the UK by National Express coaches.

To enter, children in Hastings and Rother are being asked to draw their favourite local landmark. The best design, as chosen by professional artist Richard Berner, will be turned into a one-off livery and featured on a National Express coach.

Richard says he’s delighted to launch the competition. “I can’t wait to see all the creativity and original designs produced by local kids,” he said. “What a great opportunity to proudly watch your design of your favourite landmark rolling across the region on a moving canvas.”

Each winner will also receive a £50 cheque. Richard advised youngsters to look around their own area and pick out something eye catching or inspiring. “I want kids to put their own original style and stamp on their work so whatever their favourite landmark is, give it your own personal flavour.”

‘Colour the Coach’ is open to children aged 5-15. Entrants should draw their favourite local landmark in a landscape design on an A4 sheet of paper using whatever drawing materials they choose. Deadline for the competition is Monday June 27. Entries should be posted to National Express Coach Art Competition, National Express House, Mill Lane, Birmingham, B5 6D. www.nationalexpress.com
