Where to worship at Christmas

CHURCHES across the Gazette area are preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus with special services and activities, welcoming all to worship with them.

All Saints’ (Church of England), Wick Street, Wick: Christmas Eve, 4pm, crib service; 11pm, midnight communion. Christmas Day, 8am, holy communion; 10am, family communion.

Arun Community Church (meets at The Littlehampton Academy): Sunday, December 22, 3pm and 6pm, ‘Inn-Conceivable!’ – a nativity play for all the family, with festive refreshments to follow. Christmas Day, 10.30-11.30am, all-age Christmas celebration – children, bring a toy to show.

Littlehampton Baptist Church, Fitzalan Road: Sunday, December 22, 6.30pm, carols by candlelight, with seasonal refreshments. Christmas Eve, 11.30pm, communion service. Christmas Day, 10am, Christmas family celebration.

The Littlehampton Academy: Tuesday, December 17, 7.30pm, Christmas carol concert, with songs, music and dance celebrating the journey that is Christmas. All welcome, free entry.

Parkside Evangelical Church, St Flora’s Road: Sunday, December 22, 10.30am, service, on the theme the Angels’ Song of Glory; 6.30pm, service, on the theme Isaiah’s Song of Hope. Christmas Eve, 6.30pm, short service. Christmas Day, 10.30am, short service.

St Catherine’s (Catholic), Beach Road: Christmas Eve, 5pm, family vigil mass; midnight, mass with carols. Christmas Day, 11am, Christmas mass.

St James (Church of England), East Ham Road: Sunday, December 22, 6.30pm, nine lessons and carols, followed by mince pies and mulled wine. Christmas Eve, 3pm, crib service – come dressed in a nativity costume. In Aid of Children’s Relief, Bethlehem; 11.30pm, parish midnight mass. Christmas Day, 10am, parish family mass – bring a present from Father Christmas and invite your friends along.

St Joseph’s Convent (Catholic), East Street: Christmas Eve, 8.30pm, carols; 9pm, Christmas mass.
