Whooo's for Brown Owl

WANTED: Fun-loving female aged 18 to 65 to enjoy fun evenings as well as action-packed holidays, camping trips and much, much more.

Interested? Anne Palmer certainly was when she took over as Brown Owl of the 2nd East Preston Brownies 18 years ago and she was certainly not disappointed.

Anne is retiring at Christmas and will be sad to leave the pack with whom she has enjoyed so many happy times. She is now looking for a replacement.

She said: "I have had some brilliant times. I have been abroad twice with the Brownies and have met lots of people through them."

For those who might be interested, but have never been a Brownie or Guide, the message is: don t worry, enthusiasm is far more important than experience.

Anne added: "It would suit somebody who likes children and somebody who is willing to give up their time."

Full training will be given and a broad range of support will also be available for as long as it is needed.

There are also regular meetings to enable newer recruits to pick the brains of more experienced Guiders and Brown Owls.
