WI celebrates itsfirst anniversary

IN February 2008, The Shrubbery WI was formed with 18 members.

Membership has steadily increased and the group now meets in the Scout Hall, Shrubbs Field, Middleton on Sea, on the second Monday of each month at 2 pm.

On this first anniversary, members welcomed Yvonne Bee, West Sussex County Federation chairman, and Hazel Tester, organisation chairman, along with visitors from other WIs who were instrumental in the group's formation.

Celebrations included a Beetle Drive and party tea, at which a birthday cake decorated with an image of the members was enjoyed.

The Shrubbery WI has an interesting and varied programme for 2009 and also holds regular luncheon outings.

Our next meeting is on Monday, March 9, at which Pamela North will be telling members about the role of Moslem women in the western world. For details call 01243 583311 or 01243 587916.
