Nick Gibb, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton MP, popped into The Flower Shop, in True Blue Shopping Precinct, to meet owner Michelle Bly and show his support.

He said: “Michelle bought the business nine years ago, having worked at the shop for some 15 years.

“The Flower Shop itself has been open for 40 years and now employs five people.”

He was joined by Littlehampton mayor Marion Ayres and Wick Information Centre manager Julie Robey for the visit.

Michelle started at the shop as an apprentice in 1991 and gained City and Guilds qualifications, learning new styles and techniques as flower fashions have changed. In 2006, she took over the business when the owner retired.

She and her team like to get involved with the community and hold various charity events during the year. They also hold workshops for customers to have a go at flower arranging.
