On April 26, Danni Colclough, of Wick Street, will be pushing her body to the limit when she takes on the London Marathon.

However, as the challenge looms ever closure, the 36-year-old has admitted she is far from ready for it.

“I am scared stiff and terrified,” Danni said. “I have got up to about 16 miles and after I finish it I just think to myself, ‘My gosh, I can’t do this. How am I going to do this?’

“But I’m determined to complete the marathon, even if I have to crawl over the finishing line.”

Danni is racing in a bid to raise cash for the Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice Bureau where she has worked for the past six years.

The idea came after an appeal at work for volunteers, almost a year ago.

“I had had a glass of wine and thought that I would sign up.”

To her horror, Danni was the only one to join the gruelling 26.2-mile race.

Since agreeing to the challenge, Danni has been training hard.

Although illness over the Christmas and New Year period has hindered her progress some what.

“It’s been quite difficult for me because I suffer from asthma, so it’s not been the easiest task in the world,” she added.

Danni is hoping to use the run to raise awareness of the citizens advice bureau in both Littlehampton and Bognor.

So far, her efforts have raised £300 for the charity.

“One of the things we find at the CAB is that a lot of people don’t realise that we’re a charity; people think that we’re Government-funded.

“Although we do get some funding from Government, we do rely heavily on donations.

Danni is now appealing for more people to sponsor her.
