Wick student in bid for Miss England title

A student from Wick has qualified for the Miss England semi-final.

Victoria Smart, 20, impressed judges with her looks and catwalk skills in Heat 4 auditions in Leicester.

She also won an online contest on the Miss England website, going up against contestants from around the country.

However, she faces a tough challenge if she is to go through to the final. She must finish in the judges top 10 of 60 competitors, from around the country.

The semi-final will take place on June 11th at Kelham Hall and Country Park, in Newark-on-Trent.

Victoria’s success also means she qualified for the Miss Sussex title which she will compete for at the semi-final.

She and her fellow Sussex girls will have will be invited to participate in an Eco fashion round, where contestants are invited to create an outfit made from recycled materials with the theme ‘Fashion through the decades’.

The ultimate winner of Miss England 2016 will spend her year raising awareness for various charities and will receive prizes worth £30,000.

She will then go on to represent England in the Miss World competition.
