All week the exploits of the three finalists have captivated audiences and tonight the television contest comes to its climax with each of the three contestants left having to cook a showpiece three course meal for judges Michel Roux Jr, Monica Galettis and Greg Wallace.

Twenty-six year old Steve is currently head chef at The Camellia Restaurant, South Lodge Hotel, Lower Beeding, and is a previous winner of Sussex Young Chef of the Year.

Now, there is just one meal between him and the highest culinary accolade of his career - to be crowned Professional Masterchef Champion 2013.

The programme airs at 8pm this evening on BBC2.
