That’s the ambition Arun District Council has for the former public toilet in Mill Road, next to Arundel Castle.

The facility is up for rent and could be converted into a new shop or café – subject to planning permission.

The property is being offered on a new, 20-year lease. However, the council-owned loo is not the first to be offered up for conversion.

The former public conveniences in the Manor House car park in Littlehampton now house an IT learning centre, run by Chichester College.

Councillor Dudley Wensley, Arun’s deputy leader and cabinet member for corporate governance, is hoping for some imaginative ideas and said: “This is a great business opportunity for the right person; somebody with not only experience, but also great vision to see the potential in this building.”
