WILLINGDON FLOWER CLUB: At the April meeting of the Willingdon Flower Club the members and visitors enjoyed a demonstration by Jan Mason. It was entitled Designs from around the World. Jan began with a design using native plants and woodland clematis. She moved on to Africa using homemade containers and exotic foliage and plants. Japan featured in the next design with a very large bamboo container for green foliage and green chrysanthemums. We saw the Colours of Province before the flamboyant and extravagant Carnival of Venice. Throughout the demonstration Jan shared her tips and answered questions. It was an original demonstration very much enjoyed. The members and visitors will remember many of the good ideas and tips. Jan Mason spoke about her involvement with the Charity Canine Partners as she will donate part of her fee to them. The beautiful floral arrangements were raffled at the end. The demonstration was followed by refreshments. There is a practice meeting entitled Picture This (arrangement to include a frame) led by Chris Lawrence and Alison Tomlinson on April 15.
