All show visitors will be treated to spectacular Spitfire aerobatic displays on each day of the two-day event.

Subject to cloud cover, the seven minute displays will show the 1944 Mark 9 Spitfire performing daredevil manoeuvres including victory rolls, barrel rolls, half Cubans, wingovers, derry wingovers and numerous flights past.

There will also be a free prize draw with a chance to win a 30-minute flight in a Spitfire TR9 over the English Channel. The once-in-a-lifetime prize, which is worth £2,750, will be drawn in September at the Midland Game Fair in Shropshire.

Organisers say the Sussex Country Show is the county’s largest countryside-themed outdoor event, set to welcome more than 32,000 visitors this year, with an itinerary which includes gundog handling, clay shooting, survival camp, field archery, airguns, falconry and ferreting.

The jam-packed show also offers more than 200 exhibition stands, picnic areas, a crammed Main Arena schedule, children’s entertainment, food festival, craft and antiques fairs and live folk music.

Tickets (£15) will be available at the entrance each day of the show. Accompanied children aged 15 and under can attend the show free of charge.
