Coffee Morning: The Christmas Coffee Morning organised by The Winchelsea New Hall Society takes place tomorrow, Saturday (December 12th) at 10am till 1pm in the Court Hall. You are invited to come along and enjoy coffee and mince pies and have a look at the stalls selling last-minute Christmas gifts. Also arts and crafts, Christmas decorations and cards are on sale plus a good raffle and all proceeds will be divided between the New Hall and the Pipewell Gate Appeal.

Winchelsea Singers: will be presenting their annual Carol Concert at 7pm tomorrow December 12th in St Thomas’ Church. Everybody welcome to attend and entry is by programme £10 on the door and includes seasonal refreshments. The funds raised from the Concert are in aid of St Michael’s Hospice.

Christmas Praise: Friends of the Methodist Chapel are holding their Christmas Celebration of Words and Music tomorrow, Saturday December 12th at 10.30 till 11.45am. Seasonal refreshments will follow with a collection for Action for Children. Once again this special service will be led by Keith Miller and the Worship Leaders who provided a good celebration last year.

School concert: St Thomas’ Primary School children will be in the Church on Tuesday December 15th at 2pm, Wednesday 16th at 6.30pm and Thursday 17th at 6.30pm to perform their Christmas Concert for residents, friends and families. The concert will include modern songs mixed with traditional carols and poetry written by the children and the younger ones will be dressed in imposing costumes resembling sheep, a donkey, the Angel Gabriel plus more, for telling the Nativity Story that a King is born in Bethlehem. Plenty of energy and hard work has gone into making the school production an inspiring and unforgettable event and if you would like a free complimentary ticket please contact the school office.

Carols Round the Town: Carol Scoines is organising the annual Carol singing around Winchelsea, door to door which is in aid of the homelessness charity Shelter. The dates are Tuesday December 15th and Thursday 17th from 6pm to 8pm. On Tuesday the group will set off from the church porch and on Thursday from the Rectory and if you would like to be part of the group please arrive just before 6pm dressed to keep warm.

Carols in the Court Hall: The Friends of the Ancient Monuments (FOAM) are holding their annual Carols in the Court Hall next Friday December 18th at 6.30pm. Everybody is invited to step inside the Court Hall and add their singing voices to those old and popular carols; after which complimentary wine and refreshments will be at hand.

Carol Concert: Winchelsea Beach Community Association (WBCA) invite all to the annual Carol Concert in the Community Hall. This will take place on Monday December 14th at 7 for 7.30pm.

Children’s Party: The date of the Children’s Christmas Party has had to be changed to Sunday January 3rd because the Winchelsea School children are taking part in the Christmas celebrations in Rye on Saturday 12th December. Apologies from the WBCA for any inconvenience and names for the new date should be given to Natalie on 07817962680 by Friday December 18th.
